Athens gUIDE

This guide will help you find vegan food, sustainable shops and more in Athens divided by the different regions. I have included some reviews of the places I have tried, but that is my opinion and it is neither a guarantee for any future experiences now should you avoid visiting a place because I did not have a good experience!
Feel free to use the map included below and download it on your phone for when you visit Athens

Central Athens

Plaka:

Food:

  • Avocado (vegetarian)
I have been to Avocado a couple of times and it was good.  I
wouldn't say amazing, but if you're hungry, it will do.

  • Ice Queen Gelato (desserts with vegan options)

Exarcheia

Food

  • Mama Tierra (100% vegan)

  • Cookoomela Grill  (100% vegan)
This place is a really great veganised version of the usual
souvlaki places. It has 3-4 different souvlaki combos that you can choose from, but I was disappointed when I found out that you can't make your own combinations. I would definitely suggest you checking this place out!

Shopping:

Keramikos

Food

Syntagma

Food

  • Healthy Bites (vegan options)
Healthy Bites is one of the more centrally located vegan-friendly spots and last time I was there I tried their vegan souvlaki which was really good. Next time I'm definitely trying their other vegan dishes which include sandwiches and plates of pasta.

Suburban  Athens:

Kifisia

Shopping

  • Living Green (eco-friendly supplies)
The first time I saw this store I was pleasantly surprised, especially considering the huge variety of stuff that they have, ranging from bamboo toothbrushes, reusable bags to even eco-friendly board games.

Chalandri

South:

Ilioupoli

Food:

Glyfada

Food:

  • Avit (100% vegan)
This is one of my favorite spots, especially because it is the nearest one to where my house is in Athens. I visit it very often, and there is not a single dish I would not suggest. Pictured is their new Beyond Burger which is absolutely divine, especially with their crispy fries!

  • Yi  (raw vegan but they use honey)
I have gone a couple of times to Yi, and I was not impressed. Honestly, it's nice that there's the option, but raw vegan foods are definitely not for me. The staff was also not very accommodating which made it quite frustrating but at least if there's anyone that wants to try raw vegan food, there's this place.
